Use the Define Inputs functions to specify the kind of information that a user can enter for any given parameter.

The following fields appear on the Inputs tab:

  • Input Name – Short name of the right that the inputs will be used for.
  • Visibility
  • Sort Order – Controls the order in which the inputs appear on the screen when the user is entering data. Data will appear in numerical order, using the assigned integer number.
  • Input Type - Indicates whether the selected input will impact rights configurator.
  • Recurrence Type - Indicates the recurrence pattern.
  • Column Name – Name of the parameter that the input will be used for.
  • Parent Column Name – Displays the name of the parent input if the selected input is a child.
  • Column Type – Identifies the type of input.
  • Data Type – Displays the type of data that will be accepted as a user input.
  • Default – Default value that will appear in the field.
  • Populator Type – Identifies the type of field.
  • Populator – The name of the source table used for a lookup, if applicable.
  • Association
  • Sort Order – The order in which the inputs will appear on the screen.
  • Editable Flag – Identifies whether the input is be editable and viewable. Possible values are:
    • Y – Can be viewed and edited.
    • N – Cannot be viewed or edited.
    • V – Can be viewed, but cannot be edited.
    • R – Can be viewed and must be edited (required field).
  • Parameter ID – Value assigned by the system automatically.


The Templates associated with this Input, by Service matrix displays the list of services, which incorporate these inputs. To view the list, click the [Retrieve] button above the matrix. When making changes to the inputs, keep in mind that all the associated services will be affected.

[edit] Adding an Input

Complete the following steps to add an input:

  • Click image:new.jpg at the top of the screen.
  • Fill out the required fields.
  • Click image:newmx.jpg at the top of the Input Columns matrix.
  • Fill out the fields on the Inputs tab. Repeat as necessary. Click image:deletemx.jpg at the top of the matrix to delete an input.
  • Template:Submit.

Complete the following steps to delete an input:

  • Select the input you wish to delete.
  • Click image:delete.jpg at the top of the screen. A verification window appears asking if you wish to remove the input. Click [YES]. You will not be able to undo this action.
