This help page will guide you through the process of requesting, creating, submitting and using transactions.

[edit] Transaction Requests

[edit] Step 1: Creating a Request

Select Customer Activities -> Contracts -> Transactions -> Transaction Request. You will be directed to the Transaction tab.

There are two ways to add a new transaction request to Navigates™: you may copy an existing record and modify the data to reflect your new record, or you may create a new record from scratch.

To create a new transaction request from scratch, perform the following steps:
  • Click image:new.jpg at the top of the screen.
  • Enter the umbrella contract number (either by typing it in manually or by selecting it from the lookup list) in the Svc Req K field.
  • Enter the Transaction Date, Sales Rep, Customer Requested and Description (optional).
  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save the new transaction.

To copy an existing transaction request, perform the following steps:

  • Retrieve the transaction requests by clicking image:retrieve.jpg at the top of the screen.
  • Select the request you wish to copy from search list.
  • Click image:copy.jpg at the top of the screen. The system will create a new transaction request with the data from the original record.
  • Modify the Transaction Date, Sales Rep, Customer Requested and Description (optional), if necessary.
  • Click image:save.jpg at the top of the screen to save the contract.


NOTE: The system will assign TransactionRequestId automatically when the transaction request is saved.


[edit] Step 2: Specifying Inputs

  • Go to the Transaction Inputs tab.
  • If you created a request from scratch, click image:newmx.jpg at the top of the matrix to create a new entry. Fill in the required fields.
  • If you copied the request, modify the information in the matrix, if necessary.
  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save your changes.

[edit] Step 3: Adding Comments

This step is optional.
  • Go to the Comments tab.
  • Click image:newmx.jpg at the top of the comments matrix.
  • Enter your comment.
  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save your changes. You will not be able to delete the comments after they are saved in the system.
  • To delete an unsubmitted comment, select it in the list and click image:delete.jpg at the top of the matrix.


[edit] Step 4: Submitting a Request

Once all the data is entered, you may submit the request.
  • Retrieve and select the transaction request from the search list.
  • Select Screen Functions -> Submit Request. A message confirming successful submission will appear in the message area.
  • The status of the request will change to Pending Approval.

If you wish to approve a submitted request, do the following:
  • Retrieve and select the transaction request from the search list.
  • Select Screen Functions -> Approve Request.
  • The request will become an unsubmitted transaction that can be viewed in the transactions list.


[edit] Step 6: Rejecting a Request

If you wish to reject a request, do the following:
  • Retrieve and select the transaction request from the search list.
  • Select Screens Function -> Reject Request.
  • The status of the request will change to Request Rejected.


[edit] Working with Transactions

Select Customer Activities -> Contracts -> Transactions -> Create Transaction. You will be directed to the Transaction tab.

  • Click image:new.jpg at the top of the screen.
  • Enter the umbrella contract number (either by typing it in manually or by selecting it from the lookup list) in the Svc Req K field.

  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save the new transaction.

  • Select the transaction you wish to copy.

  • Click image:save.jpg at the top of the screen to save the contract.


NOTE: The system will assign a Transaction ID automatically when the transaction is saved.

  • Click image:newmx.jpg at the top of the matrix to create a new entry.
  • Enter or modify necessary and required fields.
  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save your changes.

Once all the information has been entered into the system, you may submit the transaction.

  • Select Screen Functions -> Submit Transactions to complete step 3.


[edit] Step 4: Placing Nominations

Enter a nomination using the umbrella contract ID. For help on making nominations, please see Nominations.

[edit] Step 5: Associating Nominations and Transactions

After you've placed your nominations, select Customer Activities -> Contracts -> Transactions -> Associate to Nominations. You will be directed to the Associate to Nominations screen.
  • Click image:retrieve.jpg to get the list of nominations placed on the umbrella contracts.
  • Select the nomination you wish to associate.
  • Click image:newmx.jpg at the top of the matrix.
  • Enter the Transaction ID manually or select it from the look up list.
  • Click image:submit.jpg at the top of the screen to save your association.


[edit] Step 6: Viewing Associated Nominations

If you wish to view the nominations associated with a certain transaction, select Customer Activities -> Contracts -> Transactions -> Create Transaction. Then select the Associated Nominations tab. Retrieve the transaction from the search list. If the associated nominations exist, they will be displayed on the screen.
