The Location screen allows users to view and maintain information about an operating location. An operating location may be physical, pool, storage injection/withdrawal or any type required to facilitate the entry of nominations and system processing.

View Locations

Click image:retrieve.jpg to retrieve locations.
Use the search fields at the top to narrow the search results.
Select an entry from the list and navigate to a tab to view details.

Add Locations

Step 1: Enter General Information (Required).

  • Click image:New.jpg.
  • Fill out the required fields.
  • Click image:Submit.jpg.


Step 2: Enter Point Operator (Required).

  • Navigate to the External Contacts tab.
  • Click [New] at the top of the matrix.
  • Select a role from the list and fill out required fields.
  • Click image:Submit.jpg.


Step 3: Enter Location History (Required).

  • Navigate to the General tab.
  • Fill out required fields in the Location History matrix.
  • Set Location Status to Active.
  • Click image:Submit.jpg.


Step 4: Enter Additional Information.
To Associate a Meter, Specify Internal Contacts, Set Adjacent and Relation Locations, Associate to Groups, Add Comments or Set Restrictions:

  • Navigate to the respective tab.
  • Click [New] at the top of the tab matrix.
  • Fill out the required information.
  • Click image:Submit.jpg.
  • To delete, select the row you wish to remove and click [Delete].



FIELDS

General

Displays general information about the location as well as location history.

  • Operating Location - A unique ID and name associated with a physical or logical location on the pipeline.
  • Dir of Flow - Direction of flow.
  • Location Type - Location classification.
  • Location Class - Indicates the location class.
  • Zone/State/County/Sec/Town/Range - Physical location of the point.
  • Latitude/Longitude - Geographical position.
  • IHS Location Type - Location Type assigned by the IHS Energy Group.
  • DRN Nbr - Location's unique Data Reference Number.
  • Operator DRN Nbr - Operator's unique Data Reference Number.
  • Operator Location Code - Operator's location code.
  • Pipeline Segment - Pipeline segment on which the location is situated.
  • Parent Segments - Pipeline on which the location is situated.
  • Aggregation Area - Location aggregations area.
  • Valve Section ID - Valve ID number.
  • Regulation Code - Indicates the FERC regulation (284G or 284B).
  • EGM - Electronic Gas Measurement - Indicates that the measurement is done electronically, without the use of charts.
  • Pipeline Interconnect - Indicates if the location resides on a pipeline intersection.
  • Authority Required
  • Offshore Meter - Indicates whether the location has an offshore meter.
  • Flow Control Device - Indicates presence of the flow control device.
  • Operationally Available - Indicates whether the location is operationally available.
  • Producer Required
  • Hourly - Indicates whether the point is hourly.


Associated Meters

Displays location-meter association.

  • Meter Number - A unique ID number assigned by the measurement office to a meter.
  • Eff Begin/End Date - Effective date range.
  • Meter Id Rel - Meter measurement category {additive/deductive).
  • Meter Id Rel Status - Current system status.


Internal Contacts

Displays internal contacts associated with the location.

  • Contact Role - Contact person's role.
  • First/Last Name - Contact's name.
  • Phone/Cell Phone/Pager/Fax/Email - Contact details.


External Contacts

Displays point operators.

  • Role - External contact's role (producer/operator).
  • BA Name - Full name under which business associate conducts business.
  • First/Last Name - Contact's name.


Adjacent Locations

Displays points located immediately upstream or downstream of the selected location.

  • Adjacent Location - Adjacent location's proprietary number.
  • Location Name - Location full name.
  • Miles Between – Number of miles between locations.
  • Direction - Flow direction of the adjacency.


Related Locations

Displays related locations.

  • Point Code - Location proprietary number.
  • Point Name - Location full name.
  • Relationship Type - Type of relationship between two locations.
  • Factor Into Forecasting - Indicates whether the point should be taken into consideration during forecasting.


Associated Groups

Displays group association.

  • Group Code – Code is used to reference the location group.
  • Group Name – Full name of the location group.
  • Group Type – Location group type. Groups are unique to pipelines.


Comments

Displays comments.

  • Comment - Text.
  • Visibility - Comment visibility to internal/external users.
  • Comment By - ID of the user who entered the comment.
  • Comment Date - Timestamp.


Restrictions

Displays restrictions.

  • Point Code - Location proprietary number.
  • Point or Group Indicator - Indicates whether the restriction is placed on a single point or on a group of points.
  • Restriction Code - Type of restriction that is being placed on the point.
  • Nom Dir of Flow - Direction of flow of the nomination to which the restriction applies.
  • Description - Brief description of the restriction.
